The Main Event on the Cover of Rocky Mountain Bride Magazine

When bride to be Beth and I sat down in her dining room last winter to begin planning her wedding, I noticed a place mat under a vase sitting in the middle of the table.  It was made of brown and black pheasant feathers.

As I get to know each new client and their event, I come up with a theme that both reflects the client and their vision and keeps the event cohesive and on track in terms of design decisions.  For Beth & Ryan, I created the theme “vintage, western, elegant.”  This theme not only described their ranch home but also Beth’s dress and also helped to focus on which linens and chandeliers to choose for the decor.

As the planning process unfolded and we discussed the theme, I remembered the pheasant feathers – and yes, they fit perfectly.  We incorporated them into the centerpieces and used what nature gave us in the feathers, black and brown, for a both unusual and striking color combination.

The wedding was in fact a perfect blend of the theme and one of the most beautiful events we have produced.  It didn’t hurt that Beth & Ryan are also beautiful!  As you can see, she was a perfect choice for the cover of Rocky Mountain Bride Magazine.

Many thanks to Beth & Ryan for allowing The Main Event to be part of their most special day as well as all the wonderful vendors that helped make this wedding one of the best in 2009!
