Julia & Christian: A wedding near Vail

Julia and Christian were not the first couple to plan their destination wedding at the amazing Piney River Ranch, but the ceremony and reception felt totally unique.  The couple arrived from Arizona and spent a few days getting ready for the wedding in Vail at the Sebastian Hotel.  They spent time together rock climbing nearby and relaxing at the hotel with friends and family.  The wedding day felt relaxed and the ride from Vail up to Piney River allowed time to take a deep breath and prepare to be a world away for their wedding day.

The Piney River venue is one of the most spectacular in Colorado, with a small mountain lake surrounded by massive craggy peaks.  The view is nothing short of amazing.

Julia is a master at graphic design and went with a very simple theme of rustic mountain with yellow and white.  She designed beautiful custom letterpress invitations and used a sunny yellow as her main wedding color.  She then highlighted yellow throughout the wedding details from the dried flower arrangements to the hand stamped napkins.  The table seating was displayed with a nod to their home state of Arizona with mini zero-scapes and succulents.  Julia and Christian also had a lot of fun with their wedding elements like including a vintage typewriter for their guest book and custom made axes Christian gave to his groomsmen (and later used to cut their wedding cake!)

Julia’s amazing craft work was also put to good use creating string art for the table numbers and a showstopping work of art she spun into the couples names.  Besides enjoying the incredible Colorado mountain scenery, guests dined, played horseshoes, toasted marshmallows and paddled out in canoes on the lake.  Then they danced the night away with the happy couple and celebrated Julia and Christian.
