Cookie Monster Sugar Cookies

I was looking for a simple sugar cookie recipe that I could make quickly and in bulk for our annual Chanukah party.  I found this one by none other than Cookie Monster from Sesame Street!  I figured if anyone knows cookies, it’s the Cookie Monster!  It will be fun to tell the kids it was his recipe.

My plan is to make the dough, divide it into 12 parts (I made 2 batches), and roll each of the 12 parts onto it’s own piece of parchment paper.  That way each kid can grab a piece of parchment with rolled dough.  Then they can cut out shapes, decorate, and I will slide the parchment onto a baking sheet.  You can even write each child’s name on the parchment.

This should be a great way to keep the kids busy for a bit, keep the mess to a minimum and end with a very gratifying personalized homemade cookie for dessert!
