Leah & Kyle
If beauty shines from within, that would surely account for the glow that Leah and Kyle emitted on their wedding day. Never before have I met such a sweet and loving couple. As I got to know this couple, I knew the perfect spot for their first look. I had driven up to the Midnight Ranch many times and was always enchanted by the forest road that leads up to the ranch in Northern Colorado. One spot kept catching my eye and I knew I had to show it to the photographer, Jamie Johnson. We zipped up the road and she was hooked as well. It was perfect; a fairytale spot for a bride and groom that had a magical relationship not only to each other but to everyone whose world was entwined with theirs. When I saw Leah, fully adorned in her dress and hair wreath, she reminded me of a fairy or one of those angelic elves you might come across in Mirkwood, the forest in the Hobbit. She was at once ethereal, and beautiful, possessing some magic that you just couldn’t put your finger on.
In another magical moment, during the ceremony, a great bald eagle appeared, circled until the end of the vows, and then came to rest on a tree near the reception tent, watching over the festivities. Leah’s father passed away just two years ago, and we were all sure it was him.
At the reception the tent was especially festive and covered in colorful poofs. Leah collected tea tins and flowers were arranged in them by Sweet Pea Floral. On the far side of the tent was a custom made photo area, styled after a step and repeat, which was all in all perfect, since Kyle is a talented artist and graphic designer for the Denver Center for Performing Arts. (You’ve seen his work on the Applause covers and posters for many of the shows!)
This union is pure magic, you can see it in these photos, and you can see it when they are together. I am so lucky to have Leah and Kyle as clients and now to have them as friends!
Special thanks to Jamie Johnson for capturing this fairytale wedding.
