Jessica & Whitney
When I met Jessica and Whitney last December in a local coffee shop, I immediately thought, these women are cool and I really want to plan their wedding. Clearly bright, beautiful and outdoorsy, they also had a great balance between them. Sort of like a yin and yang thing going. Over the months of planning I saw it was true. Each brought to the relationship what the other needed, to make a perfect harmonious whole. Planning was fun and each kept the other in check while I served to offer advice and help organize their day.
I loved all of the touches and personalized moments they brought into their special day. They wanted a first look alone in the forest. They had a friend play guitar and walk them, surrounded by all their guests, up the hill to the ceremony site. Jessica’s mom grew the flowers and arranged the centerpieces. They didn’t want cake, they wanted pudding (We were all pretty stoked about planning the pudding bar and all the fixin’s and it was a huge hit!) Whitney set up the bar lounge area, where the couple sat for dinner in lieu of a sweetheart table (way cooler, with fluffy fleece blankets to snuggle in!)
It was truly a signature event. Everything went off without a hitch; it was a gorgeous August day, the weather was perfect, the tent and decor was beautiful. But what their wedding was really about was them. Theirs was one of the most heartfelt, loving and wonderful ceremonies I have had the pleasure of witnessing in over a decade of wedding planning. Please enjoy these amazingly beautiful photographs and moments which were captured by the talented Dana Romanoff. An artist and an all around wonderful person! Thank you Dana! Thanks also to Rex’s catering, and Steve at The Midnight Ranch. And thank you Jessica and Whitney, for letting me play a part in your amazing union.
